welcome to purple rocks

Welcome to purple territory. We are a class of 17 students. The purple group has been focusing on eyes and light. Earlier in the year we focused on cells and animal kingdoms. We've also examined the changing temperature of air and water. We're doing mirror writing. This year we dissected a cow eyeball and a squid. We took a phenomenal trip to Narragansett Bay with Save the Bay. We've been experimenting with Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches. Don't worry, we did not harm the cockroaches! In our notebooks we drew observations of many bay and ocean creatures. Sometimes we explore things in the water, ponds and fields around us - Kelli:). At the end of classes sometimes we play a round of 20 questions with BrainQuest cards. We observe cells in microscopes. If you are in a different state than Rhode Island or a different country, please send us your thoughts,....come to think of it, even if you're in Rhode Island, let us hear from you.
